Afternoon 2026

Afternoon
Photography, editorial
Afternoon is a photobook that explores personality through a sequence of portraits, observing the subtle contrasts that shape individual character. Rather than presenting identity as something fixed, photobook focuses on the moments where different emotions and behaviours naturally overlap. Small gestures, facial expressions and shifts in mood become the central narrative, revealing how seriousness, playfulness, confidence and vulnerability can exist at the same time. The design of the book follows this approach through a carefully considered pace, image selection and composition, allowing each spread to build on the previous one. The result is a publication that invites a slower viewing experience, where photography and editorial design work together to reveal personality through quiet observation.

Editorial structure
The editorial structure focuses on contrast and progression. Thoughtful pacing, shifts in expression, and carefully arranged image pairings guide the viewer through different emotional states while maintaining a narrative.

The book consists of 16 photographs marking sixteen years of friendship. The sequence is structured around balance, pairing eight blue-toned and eight green-toned images to create a subtle visual dialogue throughout the publication.
