UI/UX, visual identity

FS Station Archive is a research-driven digital platform that explores the architectural and infrastructural evolution of five major Italian railway stations through a structured archival experience. The project combined visual identity design with UI and UX to translate complex historical material into an accessible and intuitive interface. Architectural drawings, historical photographs and technical documentation were organised into a clear narrative system that supports both chronological exploration and thematic comparison. Timelines, layered plan overlays and analytical diagrams guide users through the development of each station while revealing broader cultural, technological and urban transformations. The result is a digital archive where information design and visual clarity work together to make extensive research engaging and easy to navigate.

Archive structure

The interface follows a station-first structure, allowing users to navigate archival material through clear timelines, layered visualisations and thematic connections that support both focused research and broader comparison.

Archival material shows that Italian railway stations are more than transport hubs, reflecting historical, cultural and technological change while revealing the evolving relationship between mobility, architecture and urban life.
